In this issue of Mondo Digitale the reader will find a selection of the scientific works presented at the last AICA Conference on “Digital Frontier, from Digital Divide to Smart Society”. Beside the specific interest of each paper, this issue draws a faceted picture of activities currently in progress inside main national universities as well as research and teaching institutions. Apart from its content and structure, this issue presents an important innovation: it is published in English. The aim is to extend the magazine’s horizon beyond national borders. Of course, the traditional format will continue, alternated and integrated with the new one.
